I believe according to your comment that we are likely to fundamentally disagree on idealism vs. realism, and that's okay. I find myself usually at the center of realism and idealism because I understand how the world works but I still want a better universe; you don't have to Mut 21 coins select one or the other. I don't understand why we have to give corporations a pass simply because they aren't individuals (that Citizens United would disagree with but that is another argument.) We shouldn't only accept the best we are given by a company, we should anticipate the best we need from these. Companies are made of people calling the shots and there are an infinite amount of examples of companies that make massive profits and stand up for great causes. Patagonia is an excellent example. They do not have to create sustainable goods and supply repair and reuse programs to go against fast trend, but they do and they earn a ton of money anyways.
This instance doesn't include the numerous gray topics where opinions have a location; this is actually a discussion of if you want black folks to have rights or not. It is not courageous of a company to state that black men and women deserve rights simply because they will lose white supremacist customers. It really IS very simple for a company to put out a statement of opinion similar to this, as we have seen from all the businesses doing so right now like Amazon and the NFL. I genuinely do not know how it's hard to get a multi-million dollar company to give up a very small fraction of the gains for the larger good. If people who do not like Black Lives Issue make up a majority of a company's customerbase, then perhaps they shouldn't have those gains (not asserting EA's playerbase from BLM, this really is a hyperbolized example)
Why not support them in doing both? Because we haven't seen them doing both. Back up your words. Sony handled things better than EA by not only using a statement, but heading after All Lives Issue fans in remarks, fitting donations by some workers, claiming they'll have more in the upcoming week, and allegedly forming a studio at San Diego headed by POC developers. Does EA have something in the works and they desired to get the announcement out first? They could have either held the statement until they had something to showtold us what they are going. At the end of the day should you refuse to acknowledge when a business creates a little step you appreciate then how will they ever learn to make a big step you appreciate?
Are you currently treating a company like the way the parent talks about a child? I really do not understand why it is our obligation to baby companies into having compassion. Why do they need to"know" to do good for humanity, why not they just do it? It is just like white folks putting the responsibility on black people to educate them not to be displaced when there's lots of resources out there on how to do it. That said, I do want to say that I apologize if any of my remark comes off as hostile or attacking to you. I value that this discussion much even when I think at the end of this we'll still disagree. I hope I am not creating a strawman out of your argument once I say you see very little value in creating a statement with nothing to back it up. Whereas when a huge company makes an official statement I think that conveys a fair bit of buy Madden nfl 21 coins cash even if they don't do anything else.
